Welcome FAQ: Read Before Registering and Posting

Welcome to degree.com's chatboard! The moderators hope that you will enjoy the time spent here discussing academic and educational issues with new friends and colleagues. To accomplish this, there are a few basic rules that everyone is expected to follow. Any posts that do not comply with these rules will be deleted before posting. To post, you must be registered.

With this in mind, please treat others as you wish to be treated, and ensure that your posts comply with the following simple rules:

1. Do not make discriminatory or negative statements about anyone with respect to ethnic origin, socioeconomic status, religious background, or gender.

2. Do not post spam messages. Messages are reviewed before posting, and attempting to post spam messages may result in the loss of your posting privileges.

3. Treat your colleagues and correspondents as you wish to be treated - with respect and courtesy. Disagreements are expected; discourtesy or rudeness is not acceptable.

4. Obscenity is not acceptable. Posts containing profanity will not be published on the message board. Sexually suggestive or explicit content is not permitted under any circumstances.

5. Do not post copyrighted materials as your own on the message board. Any quotations should be accurately referenced to the best of your ability. (For example, do not try to quote "to be or not to be" without referencing that Shakespeare said this.) Copyright infringement will not be tolerated.

6. You must provide a valid email address when registering. A confirmation email message will be sent to the email address you provide to allow you to fully register on the site. If your address changes, update your profile.

7. Do not attempt to post advertisements for other companies or websites in your messages.

8. Keep your posts relevant to the topic at hand.

9. If you have any questions about whether a topic is appropriate, or whether your post will be acceptable, it probably isn't acceptable. Focus on educational issues, treat people with respect, and enjoy your visit!

10. You may not enter email addresses or hyperlinks except to news stories or with permission of the moderator.

11. If there are other topics that you find of pressing concern or think deserve a new forum, please contact the moderator or leave a suggestion.
